Gentry Hale

Gentry is a freelance journalist, editor, content creator and copywriter from Salt Lake City, Utah. Her areas of expertise include travel, environmental science, sustainability, land management, outdoor recreation, natural resources and wildlife conservation.

She studied environmental sustainability and creative writing at the University of Utah before receiving her master’s degree in environmental science and natural resource journalism from the University of Montana.

She has worked as an editor for Bugle Magazine, Byline Magazine and Montana PBS. Her writing can be found in Trails Magazine, STAB Magazine, Business Insider, The Independent Record, Neiman Storyboard, The Sumerita Babat Post, Longview News Journal, The Powder River Examiner, Wasatch Magazine, The Montana Kaimin, Blackfoot Valley Dispatch and more. She has also produced copy for hundreds of companies worldwide.

When she isn’t writing, Gentry can be found on the move. Whether camping in Montana, surfing in California or traveling to a foreign country, she feels most at home when she’s not at home.
